APIS Inc. is a new company established in early 2018 in California. It was founded upon the innovation and formulation of new lip balm recipes designed to protect lips from harmful exposure to the elements. The recipes were first created as an “at-home” or “homemade” lip balm, by one of the company’s founders, as a way to protect his lips during long hours of working outside as a movie grip on movie sets. To fine‑tune the original recipe, the founder enlisted the aid of his brother, who happened to be a scientist working for one of the largest biopharmaceutical companies on the west coast. Together, they developed a safe and effective lip balm designed with all natural ingredients using sound scientific principles normally reserved for the biotechnology and biopharmaceutical industries.
